It is the mission of the EuroSafe Programme on Injury Data to assist the Commission with the establishment of a comprehensive injury information system according to the Communication from the Commission on Actions for a Safer Europe. This should be done by making use of the existing injury data sources, by merging the data to gain a broad picture of the burden of injuries in the EU and by strengthening the maintenance of the data collection systems.
