LAUNCH of RESULTS  print friendly

Every half an hour a young person dies of a fatal injury in Europe. This adds up to 20.000 young people losing their lives each year. Twice as many young people die of fatal injuries than all other causes of death combined such as cancer and diseases of the circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems. Yet according to the European AdRisk project, much can be done to prevent injuries among 15-24 year olds by understanding and addressing their risk-taking behaviour.

The AdRisk project has created a range of materials that have an innovative vision and can serve to fill the gaps in tackling injuries among 15-24 year olds. Working together with youth and seeing them as a resource is central to the project vision. In this respect the materials focus on strengthening youth competence to tackle risk and cope with challenges.

This report provides guidelines for initiating actions on a national level. It presents an overview on steps to take and provides a sample of tools in order to get relevant information and to plan further initiatives.
