The 2009-report “Injuries in the EU” reveals that each year a staggering 42 million people are treated in hospitals as a result of an accident or violence related injury. The report highlights injury data related to major risk groups such as children, adolescents, senior citizens and pedestrians or bicyclists.
Making use of current injury data at EU27 level the new report provides a comprehensive statistical view about different sectors of injury prevention such as traffic, work place, and home and leisure. The report will also be uploaded onto the IDB homepage at https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/idb/.
