Aim  print friendly

The objectives of this Task Force are:
    • To work collaboratively with other sectors such as the traffic, welfare, and security sector, in order to advocate the inclusion of vulnerable road users in national policies and health promotion programmes;
    • Harmonise injury data into the traffic accident reporting systems, fostering research on preventive measures, evaluating and benchmarking the effectiveness of measures taken;
    • Compile examples of good practice and highlight these in a user-friendly guide book;

Rationale
Venturing onto the road continues to be one of the most risky activities we all engage in during our daily lives. In particular for vulnerable road users, i.e. those that are unprotected by an outside shield, motorised two wheelers, cyclists, and pedestrians. These risk groups deserve to be better targeted in current actions for road safety.
