| 3rd European Conferences on Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion
Up to two hundred delegates attended the 3rd European Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, Budapest-Gödöllő (June 16th and 17th, 2011) representing governmental departments, academic institutions, health and safety promotion agencies and public health organisations from 39 countries.
In the close of the conference, delegates called for better targeted strategies and resources for injury prevention and safety promotion in countries and at EU-level. The national ministries of Health are uniquely positioned to coordinate such initiatives as the health sector absorbs a substantial proportion of the direct costs arising form injury. The health sector should in particular enhance its role in collecting and reporting injury data and provide standardised EU-indicators to enable comparison between countries and policy sectors as a tool for greater accountability.
The conclusions and recommendations from the 3rd European Conference are now published in the August issue of EuroSafe's Alert magazine. The conclusions and recommendations are being directed to national Ministers of Health in Europe, European Commission, European Parliament and professional bodies in the field of health and safety promotion.
The 3rd European conference has been hosted by the Ministry of National Resources of the Republic of Hungary, in collaboration with the European Commission and the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Read more... |
| 2nd European Conferences on Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion
Organised by EuroSafe and the Consumer Safety Commission (CSC) under the auspices of the French Presidency of the Council, the Second European Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion held on 9-10 October, 2008, in Paris, was a huge success.
The conference was attended by over three hundred delegates representing ministries of health, other relevant government departments and agencies, health professionals, injury prevention and safety promotion practitioners, academics as well as the private sector. Read more... |
| 1st European Conferences on Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion
Around 275 participants from 44 countries participated in the 1st European Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion held in Vienna on June 25-27 2006. Organised by EuroSafe, the conference was a huge success not only due to the high number of delegates but also to the quality and diversity of the plenary and breakout sesions and poster presentations.
