EuroSafe closely collaborates with the European Commission, DG SANCO in particular. EuroSafe supported the development of the Commission’s Communication and the European Council recommendation on the prevention of injuries and the promotion of safety. It serves as coordinating body for EC-communications and support activities to EU-member states on injury data and good practices.

EuroSafe is partnering with the global programme for Violence and Injury Prevention and Disabilities (VIP) of the World Health Organization (WHO) and with the European Regional Office of WHO. A working relationship has been also established with UNICEF.

Collaboration has been also established with more than fourteen European non-governmental umbrella organisations, who have signed a declaration that express their commitment to align their actions in promoting health and safety in Member States and at European level. These organisations are working in a wide range of fields relevant for injury prevention, such as transport safety, work safety, consumer safety, public health promotion, suicide prevention and alcohol prevention policies.

Through this Network of European NGO’s, EuroSafe wants to interconnect the currently rather distinct policy domains relevant to safety and to align these policies towards injury prevention as a shared policy priority. The Network seeks to create a united front in promoting health and safety in Europe and to assist in the implementation of the WHO-resolution and the EU-Council recommendation in the region.
