Study, development and dissemination of Data Mining tools for HLA data within the IPP
This project built on the observation that the former EHLASS information collection system could collect data on several million Home and Leisure Accidents (HLA) in Europe (more than 5,000,000 entries at the end of 1999). This data was exploited statistically at national level. However, it appeared that the informative potential contained in the national bases - and all the more in the recently developed (or in the process of being developed) European bases - is widely underexploited. Therefore, it is important to utilise this data more affectively by using Data Mining tools and specific procedures (exploring the “mine” of data).
