Following a case of a poorly made electric adaptor the CSC has produced this report. The case in question concerns a mains electric adpator (104.1) bought in a blister pack from a hypermarket. When an attempt was made to unplug the adaptor, the cap or outer case, broke off leaving the plug component still in the socket with exposed live metal parts and wires.

This report includes:

  • a study of the above-mentioned product
  • the Commission's investigation
  • Recommendation
