The major strategic intent of EuroSafe is to create a sustainable and dedicated network of experts and expert organisations and to increase co-ordination in the injury field at European level. EuroSafe achieves its core functions through its Programmes and Task Forces.

Programmes are led by a Centre of Excellence (CoE) and operate in the framework of a 3-year collaborative agreement that includes a business and financial plan. This should be a part of the CoE’s own financial planning. These dedicated institutes have their respective networks, competencies, dedicated resources and leadership with regard to one of the priority tasks for EuroSafe actions.

Each of the CoE’s works with its own dedicated network of partners and country representatives to ensure both input to the Programme and outreach in the field at European level. Most Programmes rely on multi-source financing, such as own resources, EC-project funding, own contributions from partners and/ or commercial sponsors.

CofE’s report annually to the Board and to the general meeting of EuroSafe. These annual reports and reviews help to assess the development of the Programme and its sustainability in the coming years.
